Adopting a horse is a commitment for the life of the horse. If you’re ready, please fill out the adoption application in it’s entirety and submit to gerdasequinerescue@gmail.org. We are always in need of foster home, too, for horses that need a little TLC for short period of time. If that’s how you can help, please fill out the foster app & submit to the same email address.

Janke
Janke has returned to us after 6 years, due to difficult personal circumstances.
Janke is 23,sound, a great trail partner, needs an experienced rider, only because she is strong ... nothing mean! She has fox hunted and ridden at GMHA. Trails are her thing!
She is also alpha in the herd..
-

Donny
Donny is a 15.3 hh really good trail horse with more whoa than go at the perfect age of 14.
Donny does have IR, so out on grass, he will need a grazing muzzle, and is on an over-the-counter supplement. -

Evie
Our QH mare, Evie, is for adoption as a companion only (Due to kissing spine). She is totally pasture sound, no vices, easy keeper, good companion for both mares and geldings. 14.3 hh 9yrs old.

Dakota
Dakota is a youngster. He’s getting his foundation at Horses w Hope, but can be adopted when completed, to someone experienced to continue his training. Dakota, was purchased from a Texas kill pen along with his mom, Cheyenne, last fall. He is friendly and wants to engage with humans. Like all young horses, he has plenty to learn. Although he will need time to grow (mentally and physically!) before he can be started under saddle, we are looking forward to providing him with a good, solid foundation so that he can make a wonderful riding partner for someone in a few years.
-

Galaxy
Galaxy is another Horses w Hope trainee, this is what they have to say about her… “15 year old Arab-X mare, who has joined us for training in August 2025. Galaxy was seized by the state of New York from a hoarding situation, where she was very much in need of proper nutrition and regular hoof care. She has very thin soles and is sore when barefoot, but is quite the pretty mover as soon as she has her Cloud boots on! We are looking forward to getting her feeling more comfortable, evaluating what she knows, and giving her what she needs to thrive.”

Shipley
We found Shipley and his bonded, blind stablemate, “Ode,” in a kill pen, where Ode was being bullied mercilessly. No matter how bad that situation was, Shipley never left Ode’s side. Even after they arrived, Shipley remained steadfast by his side. We lost Ode to colic. Whis was hard on all of us!
He is being trained as a riding horse, and we are grateful to the HwH team for giving him a purpose in life again.

Godiva
This stunning jet black Standardbred 19-year-old mare (6CD46) “Celebrity Godiva” arrived from a PA kill pen with overgrown hooves and three road shoes still on. And sadly, a full milk bag. She had been an Amish buggy horse. We did not realize she was going blind at first, but she did go completely blind while with us. Her stablemate here is Reven; she relies on him when they are turned out. We understand it’s not easy to place a blind horse in a SAFE home,. asking for her to go to a home with Reven is a huge ask…
*But we ask anyway, just in case you are out there.

Vic
Despite his obvious blindness, Vic has been one of the best riding horses we have had! Riding is the least of it; he is a true gem, and someone will appreciate that in him if he is just given a chance of a safe home and a friend.
He loves people and kids and is very careful around them. He cross ties, good for vet and farrier. He has a great sense of humor. He has earned the honor of finding the best home that he has longed for
-

Reven
Never Never OTTB, whose name we decided to spell backwards, Reven, is a more positive-sounding name, and he still keeps a piece of his old life with him.
He also had an owner who passed away, and when his pasture mate was put down due to blindness and poor health. Reven was rescued by a dealer who thought he was too nice to go to a feedlot, and through mutual connections, he ended up with us. He has become Godiva’s friend and makes sure she is safe in turnout. He does have a mild case of DSLD, but it does not bother him.
-

Oro
Oro, hands down, wins “ Most Popular” guy on our farm. This young horse has had recent spinal x-rays, the findings were that he has Kissing Spines and should no longer be ridden. But he is pasture sound.
All the horses like him and so does every person who meets him.. He would be a perfect Agility horse and a wonderful companion, especially for a younger horse who wants to have fun and enjoys playing!

Bellanova
In this precious photo is Bella Nova is getting a visit from her 97-year-old owner. They have been together since Bella was a tender 3-year-old.
When her owner, Ellen, passed away and Bella was alone, the family asked if we would find her a forever home. Since she’s been here, she has enjoyed the company of other horses, and we would love to give her that again in a home of her own.

Bud
Buddy #2 is a senior registered Quarter Horse who recently had his left eye enucleated, due to a neglected injury. He has not had an easy time adjusting to this handicap, and due to this must not be ridden again.
Buddy is in a foster home in Mass and is doing well with a good routine. Since this surgery he has done some agility training which has helped him adjust to his new normal. He does like being groomed and fussed over.
If there is a senior horse needing a senior companion then Buddy’s your guy.
